Dining Out
Every type of food and style are represented in our fair city. Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Cuban, Spanish, and more. Fast Food to formal, whatever your pleasure. Here are a few of my favorites.
When Gypsy Cab Company opened its doors in 1983, a new cuisine was introduced to the world--urban cuisine. "It's little of a lot of things ," says Ned Pollack, chef-owner of Gypsy Cab Company, where cab fare (the menu) draws on multiple influences including Italian, German, Cajun, Mediterranean, classical European, Souther, Oriental, and "Floribbean." Gypsy Cab Company, always a favorite with locals, has a reputation as being a casual restaurant with diner friendliness.
Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the nation's oldest city, and home to the Columbia Restaurant of St. Augustine, located in the heart of the historic district on St. George Street. Enjoy our award winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine while eating lunch or dinner in our outdoor courtyard or dining rooms filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.
A very popular mainstay of the First Coast's restaurant scene for over 35 years, Cowboy's present owners have been serving up their own brand of fresh seafood, BBQ ribs, chicken, steaks, gator tail, frog legs and cooter (soft-shell turtle) to locals and tourists alike for 23 years. |
